The Boys Brigade was very different from The Boys Life Brigade, Later on Life Boys Changed their name but before then, they both operate differently on their own. In 1966 The Life Boys were still called the 'Junior Reserve of The Boys' Brigade until when the name was changed to 'The Junior Section.
In 1926 , the The Junior organisation of the Boys' Brigade prior was called 'The Boy Reserves and was later called The Life Boys after the amalgamation which took place in October 1926. The amalgamation also prompted the abandonment of dummy drill rifles that had been used in The Boys' Brigade, due to the Life Brigade's objection to use of weapons or their representations
