In 1780s, Christians education teachings which is known as the Sunday school were first set up to provide education to working children in England. William King from memorial in Dursley Tabernacle Church first started a Sunday School in Dursley, Gloucestershire. Their soul aimed is to teach the youngsters reading, writing and cyphering and a knowledge of the Bible.
He (Sir William Alexander Smith) founded the Boys' Brigade on October 4th 1883 at Free Church Mission Hall where he was teaching the boys. He was also a youth worker at that time, he saw the rabble and disobedient of the boys in the Sunday and thought for the way to promote obedience in them and this was were the thought of putting up the boys with something fun with his military drills to train boys more on how to be a true discipline and reliable citizen of the world
